1. RMIT Lecture Notes in Mathematics:

Philosophy:
The RMIT Lecture Notes in Mathematics is a series of text books that appeared under the ISSN 1039 5040.

Each set of notes were prepared to assist students in grasping the fundamentals of the subject material. They are not intended to be a "textbook" in the usual sense of the word, but rather a set of working notes.

The series of publications support the learning and teaching activities provided to service students at RMIT with numerous titles published since its inception in 1988.

Much of the content of this series has been re-configured for use in a variety of SMS applications including BlackBoard and WebCT.

Features:
Self-help exercises appear throughout each set of notes to encourage continual assessment of understanding and help pinpoint topics that require extra study.

Worked examples throughout the notes illustrate important concepts and provide models to assist in problem solving.

Answers to all practice materials are provided for immediate feedback.

Sample examination papers are included to assist in preparing for the formal end of semester assessment.

"... would always prefer a locally authored and published book to an international book".
